Katie admits that 2020 has been a huge learning curve for leaders. As a voracious people watcher, with 21 years at Mindshare and 7 years as the CEO, her biggest struggle has been not ‘seeing’ her people.
Mindshare have had mental health on the agenda well before COVID-19, building in monthly wellbeing Thursday’s - a dedicated hour during the work week to do something to better your mental health. Katie feels that there needs to be more education around navigating the spectrum of mental health, and how to manage it as leaders. She acknowledges that setting an alarm of when to walk away from the laptop is an important boundary she has implemented to help manage her own mental health when working from home. As part of her daily routine, Katie has introduced gratitude and is embracing her daughter’s morning mantra of “sunny day” to start each day.
