Between a Black Summer of bushfires and a March and April marked by social distancing, passenger cruise virus clusters, airline collapses and closed borders, 2020 is shaping up to be the most challenging year for the tourism sector on record. And yet, there’s cause for cautious optimism on the horizon. The increase in community mindedness, combined with the extended border closures will see a renaissance in domestic tourism in 2020/2021.
