Western Australia’s leading communications consultancy, Cannings Purple, has appointed veteran communications advisor Annette Ellis to the newly-created role of Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Ellis joined Cannings Purple in 2008. She previously headed up the Company’s corporate affairs team, and brings more than 25 years’ experience to the role. She has assumed full responsibility for Cannings Purple’s day-to-day operations, with Managing Director and co-founder Warrick Hazeldine focusing on providing special counsel to clients, growing key markets and the strategic direction of the Company.
As part of the changes, former journalist and experienced communications adviser Fran Lawrence has been promoted to the role of Director – Corporate Affairs. Ms Lawrence joined Cannings Purple in 2015 as an Associate Director, and will lead the Company’s corporate affairs team servicing a diverse and growing client base.
Mr Hazeldine said the appointments reflected Canning Purple’s continued growth and the calibre of its people and clients.
“As a business, we exist to start and shape conversations that matter,” he said.
“To ensure these conversations with investors, the community, employees and others have the desired impact – it is critical we attract and retain the best advisers in the region.
“The moves we are announcing today are very much about growth and the evolution of Cannings Purple, to meet the demands of our growing client base.
“We pride ourselves on hiring the best people; a practice that delivers outstanding results for both our clients and for Cannings Purple. The promotions announced today recognise Annette and Fran’s respective contributions to the success of the business.
“These appointments position us well to continue to lead the market in the provision of specialist services in the areas of strategic communications advice, media management, stakeholder relations, crisis communications and influential, multi-channel campaigns.”
